Mountain areas of Southern California were battered by powerful winds on Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service, by 10 p.m. wind gusts were clocked at 86 mph in Montecito Hills and 87 mph at Whitaker Peak in Angeles National Forest.
The NWS warned of possible downed trees and power lines along the Interstate 5 corridor.
High winds were expected to continue until 9 a.m. Monday, the agency said.
